Velin Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Velin (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a personal drink diary mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how that information is used, and the choices available to you. By using Velin, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Velin is designed as a local-first journaling tool. Where practicable, diary and profile information remains on your device rather than being uploaded to Velin-operated servers for ordinary day-to-day use.

2. Eligibility

Velin is intended only for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided information through the App, contact us at the email address below so we can help address the matter.

3. Information We Process

Depending on how you use Velin, the App may process the following categories of information on your device:

• Account and profile information: email address (if you register with email), Sign in with Apple identifiers used locally to recognize your account, display name, optional biography text, age you provide, and optional profile photo.
• Drink diary entries: drink type, rating, optional name, notes, optional spending notes you enter, optional photos attached to an entry, and timestamps associated with logging.
• Preferences and app state: onboarding completion flags, settings, feature preferences, and similar local configuration values.
• App usage on your device: virtual coin balance, transaction ledger entries kept locally, feature unlock flags, free-tier counters, and related preference values stored for your convenience.
• Device technical information: standard device and operating-system capabilities needed to run the App (for example, local storage paths and permission prompts for camera or photo library when you choose to add an image).
• Support messages: if you email us, we process the information you send, such as your address, message text, device model, and App version, to respond to your request.

4. In-App Purchases

This App offers optional in-app purchase services, including membership subscriptions (Velin Pro), virtual coins, and other digital content.

All payments are completed by the Apple App Store. We do not obtain your bank card, credit card, or other payment account information.

We only receive necessary purchase information returned by the store, such as purchase status, order identifiers (not full payment details), and subscription validity periods. We use this information to verify your purchase eligibility, unlock membership benefits, apply coin entitlements, and restore purchase records.

We do not use your purchase information for advertising or marketing, or sell it to third parties.

5. Information We Do Not Seek

Velin’s ordinary design does not require you to share government identification numbers, precise continuous location tracking for advertising, microphone recordings for unrelated purposes, or contacts from your address book. We do not operate a public social feed within Velin, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties for advertising.

6. How Information Is Used

Information processed by the App is used to:

• Operate Velin features, including drink logging, Goals, Stats, coins, and Pro benefits;
• Confirm eligibility under our 18+ requirement and maintain your profile on your device;
• Deliver, validate, and restore in-app purchases and subscriptions using store-provided records;
• Maintain security, prevent abuse of digital purchases, and fix errors;
• Answer support requests and communicate important service or policy updates.

7. Storage and Security

Drink diary content, profile details, coin balances, and related preferences are stored locally using platform storage available to the App (such as app documents and preferences). You are responsible for securing your device with a passcode, biometric lock, or other device-level protection. We rely on platform security for sign-in and purchases. No method of electronic storage is perfectly secure; we encourage reasonable device hygiene and timely operating-system updates.

8. Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose limited information only in these circumstances:

• App Store: Apple processes payments, receipts, renewals, refunds, and related compliance under Apple’s privacy policies.
• Sign-in providers: If you use Sign in with Apple or similar platform sign-in, that provider processes authentication under its own terms and privacy notice. Velin does not receive your Apple ID password.
• Legal and safety: When required by law, regulation, valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users or the App.

9. Your Choices

• Profile: You may edit profile fields available in the App, including name, age, and bio where offered.
• Photos: Camera and photo library access are optional and used only when you choose to attach an image.
• Sign out: Signing out ends the active session on the device according to the App’s session rules; data for that account may remain locally until deleted.
• Delete account: Deleting your account removes local data associated with that account on the device, as implemented in the App. This action cannot be undone on that device.
• Store purchases: Manage subscriptions and purchase history through your Apple ID / App Store account. Refund requests go to Apple under Apple’s policies.

10. Retention

Local App data remains on your device until you delete the relevant content, delete your account, uninstall the App, or clear App data through system settings. Store-side purchase records may be retained by Apple according to Apple’s policies.

11. International Use

If you use Velin outside the country where you live, the information remains primarily on your device and is subject to the laws that apply to you and to your device.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy, except where applicable law requires additional consent.
